City of Athens Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan

The plan reflects a consensus vision of how the City of Athens will over time transform its streets, development patters, government and community outreach to establish an environment that makes walking and bicycling an obvious, safe and attractive option.

The City of Athens Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is a public workshop driven process that provides detailed recommendations for the primary and local streets in the City.  Numerous public workshops and an online survey were used to help shape this plan. The final recommendations were broken into near-term, mid-term and long-term improvements to help guide the plan to fruition.
