Thumb Region Non-motorized Transportation Plan
The counties of Tuscola, Sanilac and Huron joined together to develop a regional non-motorized transportation plan. This project was funded by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and is part of a larger effort that is look at energy production and utilization in the Thumb area as well as promoting economic development in the region.

Our Task
The focus of the project was the M25 corridor and the waterfront communities along the corridor. The project looked at routes that link to interior communities and destinations. The project was implementation oriented and identified realistic projects that would effect noticeable improvements to bicycle and walking conditions in the region. Implementation costs and available funding sources were also identified.
